Other Peoples Polyester

Jul 23, 2018 | Clothing & Accessories, Product

Other Peoples Polyester (OPP) uses vintage polyester found at estate sales and pairs it with soft knit fabrics to create refreshing, one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories.

Enamored with Japanese street fashion, and colorful fabrics from the 1960s, fashion designer and teaching artist Malia Peoples, started OPP as a way to counteract Seattle’s gray weather and equally gray fashion tendencies. Each item is joyfully handmade by Malia in her downtown Seattle studio, less than a mile away from Pike Place Market.

The Ventures program has helped Malia grow her clothing and accessories business by offering relevant feedback on how to improve brand recognition, holding her accountable for the business and paperwork side of daily operations, introducing her to a community of makers, and placing her products in the Ventures store to help her transition into the world of wholesaling.

Malia encourages you to fight Seattle’s gray with OPP today!
