Denise Warren

Denise is an experienced CEO, President, Advisor, and Board Member with a proven track record growing and operating profitable, recurring revenue businesses in the media and publishing sector and driving transformational digital change in marketing, product and sales.

Denise is an expert in digital subscription businesses and recurring revenue models, media, digital media, marketing, e-commerce, product, sales, digital and the newspaper and magazine industries, having held posts in every facet of business operations at several leading media organizations. She is currently the CEO and founder of Netlyst, LLC a consulting and advisory practice focused on digital business growth and scaling consumer and enterprise recurring revenue streams. Current and former clients include Google News Initiative; The Guardian; The Helen Gurley Brown Foundation; Dennis Publishing: Forum Communications and GFR Media.

Denise served as President of Digital & CEO of East Coast Publishing for Tribune Publishing and in numerous capacities at The New York Times Company. In her 26 years with The New York Times Company, Denise served as Executive Vice President of Digital Products & Services, (including oversight for consumer revenue and marketing, analytics and research); General Manager,; Chief Advertising Officer; Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning; and Director of Marketing. She led the development and execution of The New York Times’ successful paid digital subscription model, which ushered in the industry standard for monetizing premium digital content. She also transformed The Times Ad Sales organization into a multi-platform, consultative and client focused sales team.

She is currently an independent board and audit committee member for Taylor Morrison Home Corporation, the fifth largest homebuilder in the US, since August 2018. Ms. Warren was appointed as the first independent board member of Naviga, a Vista Equity Partners backed enterprise software technology company, in October 2017 to help Naviga digitally overhaul its’ marketing, sales and product development capacities. From April 2018, she served on the board of Monotype Imaging where she chaired the nominating and governance committee and was a member of the audit committee until its’ successful public to private transaction in October 2019. Ms. Warren also served on the board and audit committee of Electronic Arts, a publisher of game software and services, from May 2013 to August 2018 during a period of rapid digital transformation and market capitalization growth from $7 billion to $39 billion.

In addition to her recurring revenue, digital, product and consumer marketing expertise, Denise has deep experience in corporate and financial strategy, new product development, brand marketing and sales. She is also a member of WCD and NACD and a non-current NY State, Certified Public Accountant.
